I actually meant I didn't want jazz recommendations from Scaruffi's lists, not rock/pop, because I know recent jazz better than rock/pop and have studied his lists, but my first post was wordy and subtle distinctions like that are easy to miss in threads. So Scaruffi weird rock recs are fair game! Which ones from the last 20-25 years would you -- or anybody else -- recommend?
