I could easily come up with 200 jazz albums (but of course not easily type!). My 1950s chart has 93 instrumental jazz albums.

Some non-jazz ones (at least on technicalities):

Look-Ka Py Py by The Meters

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa

Music Of India (Three Classical Ragas) by Ravi Shankar

Blow By Blow by Jeff Beck

Fare Forward Voyagers (Soldier's Choice) by John Fahey

Gotta Groove by Bar-Kays
Their second album is great Meters-like instrumental groove

Unorthodox Behaviour by Brand X

New Tones by NOMO
Contemporary Afrobeat with subtle electronic touches

I own Mozart's Complete Symphonies conducted by Charles Mackerras... really like it

I also own Stravinski's Rite of Spring, the Firebird, and Petrouchka conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy on an Ultimate Stravinski Package... really like those too

Also I like Chopin's piano music. I own a package of most of it, which is played by Artur Rubinstein, a great pianist.

In the heart of the moon by Ali Farke Toure and Toumani Diabati

This is maybe the most peaceful and soothing album I've ever heard. I should listen to it more often.

Thanks man! I'm glad this thread reminded me of this album. I've never come across metal played on acoustics before or since this album.

And Satriani does sing on this one:

While it does have some less than stellar vocals making it less consistent than Alien, it does have my all time favorite Satch instrumentals, including The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing, The Forgotten pt 2, and One Big Rush.

Well, I listen to so much jazz, that I could make a list a hundred long and not cover all the artists I love who don't sing. So, sticking to rock, here's my few entries:

The Steve Morse Band: Southern Steel

Randy Coven: Funk Me Tender

Michael Lee Firkins: s/T

If we look at albums where there is singing, but not by the named artist, it's gotta be Robin Trower: Bridge of Sighs

Plenty of great ones on the New Age side as well. Here's a couple gems.

Yes indeed. I actually have Love Devotion and Surrender in a chart too. That would've been a great example for me to put. It's awesome. I'm not that familiar with the Buddy Miles one though. I probably should be though, huh?

Yeah me too. When it comes to newer music that I listen to, it's almost completely instrumental. This is for the last 10 years or so. And I actually get disappointed when there's a vocal. I'm not sure if this is because I'm just so turned off by the singing styles of today, or that I just started listening to a different kind of music. And to be honest, I think lyrics are basically bullshit anyways. To me, the only thing they're good for is to have something to sing along with. Can't believe how many people actually take them seriously. They're usually nothing more than High School level poetry. Heh heh. Or greeting card messages. 😎 😎 😎

I noticed how many of my favorite albums in my decade charts were by artists who don't sing. It just seemed like I had an awful lot compared to most people. This could be because I had a lot of electronic albums in my charts. Electronic albums are much more likely to be mostly instrumental, though of course there are many who do sing.
I'm sure that people who like a lot of jazz or classical will have many of them.
And maybe I should have said artists who never vocalize, because I also mean Rap.
