O think hypnosis would be better. Music is like stimulating so even quiet or calm music may cause the brain waking vibes.

Instrumental music might work though.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread as I am going through a bout of insomnia and want recommendations of calm soothing music to play in the middle of the night.

Just listened to this album, and it's done a good job of relaxing me:

Ambiq by Max Loderbauer / Claudio Puntin / Samuel Rohrer

It's weird jazz that uses the Buchla 200e synthesizer, the sound never gets crowded and the music goes out there but never really "difficult" exactly, I think it hits the desired points.

Interesting! I like jazz so I should check it out
