Yeah Roaches and Beverly stand out as the best tracks not to make it to the final, perhaps why I may seem a bit oversalty towards SoKe since they were all it's victims along with my main favorite Romance 😁 The Totally Lit bracket was indeed totally lit. The Opener and Me & My Dog are also up there too.

My other favourites were Nobody and I Shall Love 2. They both went out by a solitary vote to a finalist so were a bit unlucky in the draw.

Also liked the Hinds, Orbital and Bevis Frond tracks- they were all just kind of fun really.

Snooty? Wishing for the sake of variety that one of the two "art pop" songs had instead been replaced with Let's Eat Grandma or Pusha T... sounds closer to reverse snootiness if that exists 🤣

In case it wasn’t clear (probably wasn’t), I wasn’t suggesting with a straight face that music can be reduced to those two dimensions. It was partly tongue-in-cheek. I know that from a music theory perspective those categories don’t make sense.

I guess my point was that there’s not much variety in terms of musical “accessibility.” They’re all in the mid-range from my perspective. But of course, accessibility is a nebulous and highly relative concept.

And as to drums, point well-taken.

I don’t think you’re ganging up on SOK at all... and I’m pleasantly surprised it’s gone as far as it has, given that my past selections in tournaments gone by have ended up getting booted out early doors.

Personally speaking I’d have loved to see Pusha in the final, and Holter (whilst beautiful) doesn’t do nearly as much for me as Gwenifer’s take on American Primitivism did. But I totally get why people love her track - and 10-15 years ago I might have felt the same. On a purely personal level and for me - the hitherto eternal jazz-sceptic - to not only find something from the genre that’s instantly clicked as well as opened gateways that 12 months ago I never would have entertained is reason for me to celebrate how seismic ...Harriet Tubman has been in my own little voyage of musical discovery. If by nomm’ing it I’ve managed to turn a few ears then regardless of what happens from here on in my work here is done.

No I def don't want to see like I'm ganging up on Sons, again the beauty of the tournament is everybody and all their personal perspectives gets a say and totally respect how each cookie (bracket) crumbles.
