But you're not critiquing my argument because you have misquoted or misidentified my argument.

Saying I cant be sexist because I have daughters is something completely different than saying I raised daughters to be whatever they want to be regardless of any expectations anybody else might have of them.

Funny, I feel exactly the opposite. The Soccer Mommy album bored me completely.

The Snail Mail album works as a cohesive whole, it is really very smartly put together. Each individual song may not stand out individual, but they all build upon one another.

And I'm struck by how relatable this album was to me, since I have a child older than her. I think she does a good job of keeping to the more universal aspects of her story. And sure, she's got a slacker vibe, but it's definitely not dumb.

And PS: "Ageism" isn't a thing. You can totally criticize (or compliment!) someone for doing not typical of their age. It's OK to think that a 50+ year-old mega-rich rapper singing about vaping is complete crap, but if that were a 17-year-old nobody the topic doesn't come off as contrived.

It's also OK to do the reverse: If a very young person sings about hardship in their life, it's OK to think that it carries less weight than, say, listening to the last things Johnny Cash sang. (Both may be great.) Back to this match, I might be more fond of Snail Mail because someone a generation younger than me wrote songs that resonate with me. It works both ways.
