Sometimes in the silence of the night I think: I should have nominated Diddy feat. Keyshia Cole - Last Night 🤡

Allright again mille merci for everybody help pushing this tournament, and now Im handing over the rains to anybody else who wants to take on a tournament challenge, ever a 2019/2010s song or any other grand idea, but Im too burned out and busy with other things
Will still gladly participate as much as possible with whatever comes next (and I suggest splitting tourney-running responsibilities with two people)

Thanks for running these for so long CGD!!!

Allright, we've reached the top of the mountain, obviously it got a bit slower as this long-ass tournament got closer to the end but again merci mucho for everybody who's stuck around, listened, voted or told me I'm a worthless a*hole, couldn't have done this admittedly massive undertaking without all your participation and support, so give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. Anyways I don't know if I want to take on another tournament of this size, but may do a 2019 one soon and I know Bay babe will probably have his album tournament sometime this spring/summer if he's not too pre-occupied and that Hayden wanted to do something with the 2010 songs (or not, donno), so we'll see how it all lies, maybe y'all tell me what sounds good next Think may be getting too busy for all this but I can try and squeeze it during break time....

Anyways finale and 3rd place contest will last 7 days, so y'all have plenty of time to vote. Choose wisely.

Thanks for clearing it up!

I'm kind of surprised something so "mainstream" was allowed to be #1 was what I was thinking to myself (incorrectly obviously).

I don't really follow pitchfork (hence my terrible taste)... was B.O.B. song of the decade? Have a hard time believing that as great as it is, but I suppose it's possible.

EDIT:
Am I blind, impatient, or a dork for not seeing the final match posted?

Yeah, it's P4k's #1 for the 00s. Idioteque's #8. Maps is #6. Paper Planes is #3 (savagely beaten by B.O.B. in a gladiator fight at a small city 7-Eleven before the game even started). All My Friends is #2.

BEA has B.O.B. behind some Tool tracks, a solid handful of songs by Ween I've never even heard of, and something by the Arctic Monkeys which I don't remember too vividly, but we're weird. Maps is only a little behind, but they both have 91/100 on here. I actually think it'll be a fight.

How To Disappear Completely seems to be a consensus 'best song of decade' by BEA and RYM, but it didn't get a slot. Think I'd prefer B.O.B. anyway.

And the match isn't up, no worries.

And cheers Hugh. Let the best song neither of us made win.

dang it all comes down to this!! we gotta ask ourselves, do we wanna have the same song of the decade as pitchfork?? 😉 😉 🤣 🤣

don't worry about how maps earned their number 6 spot

Allright, closed that a little bit late but anyways we have our final! Again a million smooches for all who have stuck around for what is admittedly a too-long tournament, will have to think hard (and long) about what to do next to avoid tournament fatigue the next go-around. Anyways here are our wonderful finalists:

Outkast- b.O.b (Hayden)

VS

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Maps (Revolver94)

Was really hoping Juana Molina or Broadcast would pull of a crazy upset a la the Tennesse Titans (those jerks!!!), but honestly stoked they made it as far as they did!!!

I'd be very happy with a Maps Vs B.O.B. final.

BUT... based on BEA's taste, even though it's also my nom, I'm a little worried Idioteque might edge out 😨

as long as it's crazy Hawaian-shirt-level fun, it's legit.

Yeha If I do another one of these I don't think it's going to be another decade whirly-gig, or at least a smaller one- I definitely understand the tournament fatigue setting in. Anyways we've made it to the final four, here are the final matchups seeded by total votes (at poll closing). Thanks for everybody who's stuck around for the long haul, hopefully we can still have some crazy Hawaian-shirt-level fun with the songs even if you've probably gone through them about five or six times this tournament. Also sorry for the lack of #swag

Yeah Yeah Yeahs maps
Portishead the rip

Outkast b.o.b
Radiohead idioteque

Right, forgot about that... that was brutal for a preliminary 🤣

By all means, Paper Planes could still be on the board an nobody would question it.

Yeah, BOB is the only song in there that you could legit call the best of the decade. Not saying it is, but I'm rooting for it in this tourney

Once again, not going to dish on my nom, but I genuinely thought Maps would win the entire thing from early on. I wouldn't count it out.

Thanks, brother! I'd love to see one of them take it all! But, yeah. Nice surprise to see them still slugging it out with the heavyweights. 😁

Congrats on your picks too! Even if your BOB knocked out my Paper Planes. 😁

B.O.B all the way!!! (please and thank you)

Can't believe three of my picks have lasted this long, particularly Anthems, which is more of a personal fav that I didn't even think was consensus 'best track on that album'. I kinda just tossed it in there figuring it'd be out round one. Not sure if it has much of a fight against The Rip, but being said, I actually think there's a chance the final could be B.O.B. vs Idioteque. Or maybe Maps vs The Rip? Whatever happens, I'm near certain we'll see B.O.B. vs Maps, and whoever makes it out of that will win.

I think In The Flowers beating Do You Realize which beat Accordion is a little bizarre, but that's just how it rolls. Still a decent track.

Saddest not to see Bros, Int'l, and Lloyd up there. I Want Wind To Blow was out early, but that too.
