Been completely out of it for days now with the flu and come back to this, I do really like this Beirut song and a bunch of their stuff in general, but it's gotta be Clipse.

For real, 'Grindin'' is one of the greatest songs of any decade and any genre, and yet still totally encapsulates 2002. The idea that Beirut - who are totally fine, by the way - might win this tie is very, very silly.

Also grindin' is sublime, Beirut is something I really liked back in '06-07 but now dear god if I never hear another yukele in my life (and have tantric with a french redhead I'll die a happy man

Going with Clipse, but by a hair. It's a hard track to vote against. Most hip-hop ages terribly, but it's one of those tracks that simply works... it'd be a smash today.
