I generally don't vote in these, preferring to just let whatever wins, win, so I can hopefully listen to new-to-me stuff and enjoy the journey of discovery.

My criteria is a list that is mostly new to me, and yet stuff that something indicates I might actually take to it. Although for some (especially Tap's), I had no idea whatsoever going in, and still really took to it.

But with the list of lists winnowing down the way it has here, most lists are entirely or almost entirely populated with albums I'm already familiar with.

The one exception, a list that has a high proportion of albums I'm not already familiar with, and still have some hope for enjoying, is Bay States, so that got my vote. There are artists I like, but albums by those artists I haven't heard so that bodes well. That also gives me drive to check out the albums by artists I do not yet know well.
