And of course anything by Deafheaven. Both Boris and Alcest have several good choices, but their most well known albums are a good way to get into their respective styles.

I remember when DJ’ing an “east coast swing” night at the dance studio I went to, I put on the surf rock part of “Xero Tolerance” for the group of senior citizens to dance to. It went about as well as you’d expect.

Yeah seconded - especially Boris. Jesu, Alcest, Cold Body Radiation and Strawberry Hospital also fit. Some are really into Deafheaven, and woods of desolation - I am not.

Great song ^ personally I think Type O Negative is best introduced through their debut Slow Deep and Hard. Getting the full concept record of adultery to double murder suicide followed by mass demonic sexual assault really quickly gives the listener if this one's for them or not.

I guess many would consider Dan Fogelberg lame, and he's one of my all time faves.

Like many, I have a great love for The Carpenters and always have, even when they were at the peak of their perceived lameness.

There's a handful of John Denver songs I could listen to all day.

Ditto Cat Stevens.

Over time, it has become fashionable to list Boston as lame, but I still have very high regard for the first album and some for the second.

Similarly, I still love the first Meatloaf album.... and most anything by Jim Steinman.
