Enjoyed it yeah, enjoy pretty much everyone who performed for the most part and I didn't know who was performing going into it so an upside 50 Cent was an odd surprise. Covid in our house at the moment so stayed up overnight to have a watch of the Super Bowl, the sport itself I can give or take, feels very slow for what I'm used to and I imagine I'd struggle to watch full games regularly (and that's as someone who watches far far too much sport on a weekly basis), impressive no doubt though, the whole thing's a bit mad, enjoyable but mad!

Just watched the show.

Gets a thumb's up from me. I wish Kendrick got another song (or at least more m.a.a.d. city time), and the back-to-back Blige felt like an obvious weak spot (kinda wish they booked Missy Elliot instead), but overall it was a blast. Would've been cool if they did some crossover collabs, but oh well. Could've kept watching it honestly— wasn't quite ready for it to end when it did, figured once they were all Avengers-esque assembled on stage they would do a final number together. I understand they had to pick tracks that would be able to somewhat fly on a massive wide-audience broadcast, but something like Nuthin But A G Thang or King Kunta would've been great additions.

But yeah, it was super enjoyable. Snoop's cool as a cucumber delivery was a nice shake up from the typical arena bombasticness.

My prediction for next year— Stevie Wonder or Queen (w/ Lambert and/or vocal guests). I think they'll go a bit more old school.

I literally left the Queen City days before the Super Ball but they were going nuts, guess luck ran out

So when are the chargers going to stop being the Rams cousin that they're forced to take to prom and move to their own city

Oh yeah, that was a stellar half time performance. I'll take that over the lowest common denominator performances by Coldplay, Maroon 5, etc.

As it pains me to admit, it was a good game. Very tough to watch as a Browns fan, haha. I was mostly at peace with the whole OBJ thing until the OBJ-Von Miller story got out. That plus the media kicking Cleveland while the city is down has made me pretty bitter towards the NFL for the meantime. Now I'm just glad this season is over.

Anyone else enjoy the halftime show? One of the best in recent memory IMO. I think it probably suffered the same criticism that the show usually gets for lip syncing, etc. but despite all that I still thought it was a good time.

Game was solid too, wasn't rooting for either team in particular but it was much better than last year's beatdown

I hope time proves me wrong, but Baker Mayfield is not able to lead a team to the Super Bowl. That loss to the Chargers still stings and the Ravens being able to make a game tying drive and an OT game winning drive is exacerbating my mood.

Great guess, and glad you were wrong about the first part! Nothing against Ariana Grande, but 3 titans of LA hip hop plus 2 artists hugely influenced by one of those titans is big for a super bowl in LA.

For those who haven't seen the news, the 2022 Super Bowl will be in Inglewood with the halftime show to be performed by Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige.

If the NFL is trying to get LA-area natives to root for the 2 teams that were basically forced to move there... hosting the super bowl and having Kendrick, Dre, and Snoop do the halftime show is a solid effort.

I think Gowi was mentioning the AOTY Grammy, but I won't disagree with those two probably never doing the show. And I always see Butler doing sports stuff in the US (mostly basketball, but still)— and he's from Texas, if that's worth anything. I wasn't trying to be insane, they do have some arena-rock tracks, but I do understand it's some 1/100 odds on that.

Only caught the second half (work during the day). Pretty boring. The only fun part was the fan streaking across the field, those idiots are always good for a chuckle, (CBS couldn't show it but that's what YouTube is for).

That was the highlight heh. Thought I was tripping, but it really was Siouxsie snippet. I was pretty disappointed with the halftime performance unfortunately, I really like Weeknd but it all seemed like a big show with no substance. But most halftime shows are like this I guess. IDK the camerawork was bad, the songs were all cut in half, the visual part was fine and expensive but nothing too great. And I just don't think anybody put on as good of a show as Prince.

Honestly, whenever I look at Billboard I feel 80 years old. I just haven't heard of half these people. I have a pretty bad concept of what's 'big' right now and what isn't, especially the past 3 years. Wasn't sure what to make of the Grammy snubs either.

That was definitely the most I have ever enjoyed a Super Bowl halftime show. Packed with hits, and it was also cool to hear Siouxsie And The Banshees sneak on the setlist.
