just saw/read that. I felt a strange pride when our website was mentioned. then felt similar over and over and over when they continued mentioning BEA

September 24 1991 is ridiculous. I somehow only ever knew about the RHCP and Nirvana albums same day.... didn't know about ATCQ and Soundgarden too... nuts.

Wow didn't even know those 5 albums dropped the same day. What would be the 2021 equivalent of that?

Sometimes I Might Be Introvert - The Low End Theory (some of the best rap of the year)
Cavalcade - Nevermind (seminal 2nd albums)
Imperative Imperceptible Impulse - Badmotorfinger (metal, kinda)
Jubilee - Bossanova (indie and pop influences)
The Turning Wheel - Blood Sugar Sex Magic (breakthrough album after the last one which was good and had a lot of promise)

Ok I pulled some of these out of my ass but imagine those 5 dropping on the same day and then amplify it by 100. You could add Montero or Sour since they're the year defining albums in the mainstream, just like Nevermind was.

This would be a cool article even without the props to BEA. For me, they have the correct number 1. You can’t beat Low End and Nevermind arriving the same day.

I also liked the day with Christmas albums for 94, because I got Nirvana’s Unplugged for Christmas that year and I bought Youthanasia around that time as well.

Cool! That's a really interesting exercise. Would be really interested to see it taken back into earlier decades, though understandably that would be tougher to do based on the criteria.

I'm astounded at how big September 11th, 2001 is. Based on my personal preference of the albums, that would seem to be the clear winner.
