This one on II has a raw sound 2 it that, if recorded today, would get overproduced and have all it's energy removed. Don't get me wrong I love a great sounding final mix.

But IMO that just wouldn't have worked for this album.

And I don't know how to quote another post, but excessive guitar noodling???? Maybe your referring to the interlude in Whole Lotta Love, which builds into one of Page's many PERFECT solos. Or maybe your talking about the true solo in Heartbreaker which is largely considered one of the greatest solos ever recorded. Not sure what else you might be referring to. Hey your entitled to your own opinion, but mine and GARY's is the RIGHT one!!

And beyond that Ramble On is one of my favorite songs of all time, an extremely underrated bass line. End To End this album is brilliant, undoubtedly deserving of its spot.

Man, I guess I don't listen to a ton of Rock & Roll anyway, but I always just thought Led Zeppelin II was the tits. I've listened to a handful of their other albums, and the only one that comes close is IV. There's just not a song on II that I don't like, you know? I'd have a hard time picking a favorite.

Indeed....not. Abbey Road is their second best, Please Please Me comes in at a rather mediocre 12th place out of 14. Pop fluff. Like everything by the Beach Boys.

Edit: A tad better than the average Beach Boys to be fair.

I'm afraid that I have to agree that every Beatles album before Rubber Soul is pretty much garbage. But back on the Led Zeppelin front, I suppose I'll jump on the rank-every-LZ-album bandwagon:

IV > III > Physical Graffiti > Houses of the Holy > II > I > In through the Out Door > Presence > Coda
