Stay with Wild Up's "On It" over Felled Plume, 7-5

Wild Up are far from the wildest (sorry) part of this matchup, who would have thought there's stuff like Knoll out there, I guess you learn something new every day - obviously voting for Wild Up.

Two names I don't know. Difficult choice.
There is only one-way out - to compare the first two minutes.
Wild Up - Stay on It
A promising start deceives, but wins.
The Knoll - Felled Plume
Directness of execution is captivating, but not so much.

Yes and yes.

Wild Up are decent, but neither of the 2 albums have really blown me away. Minimalism is hit or miss for me, I guess. Knoll had probably the best grindcore album last year, this song is insane and gets my vote.

There's so many great photos of Julius Eastman.

I'll vote for the people who covered his compositions.

Well now, there's a contrast for you, if there ever was one!

Repping: Buffalo

I think Wild Up are actually from Los Angeles (kind of a "loose collective"). Julius Eastman spent a few years in Buffalo NY, and also died there in 1990, but in this case he's the composer, not the performer. I guess maybe it's repping both places...

Also, it's just "Knoll," not "The Knoll," otherwise people might think the band name is a JFK assassination reference. Nobody wants that! 😨
