Well, the tooth pick in Drive served to make him seem like a shallow narcissistic douchebag who got all his concepts of "how to be cool" from 50's greaser flicks and might have Asperger's syndrome.

I don't know Lars... and therefore will abstain. The Holy Grail is very funny, but when I'm thinking about cinema, I can hardly think of this film as one of the best ever made. Cinematically speaking, it's very ordinary. The numbers are hilarious though.
