I don't think I have any meme playlists, but I do have a some theme playlists. Here's one of my playlists. It's called "Grace".

I also like to make playlists of different versions of the same song. I like hearing and comparing how different artists perform the same song. Does anyone else here make playlists like this?

There aren't any hard and fast rules, it's just an option to make a playlist that is funny or subverts expectations in some way. Can be anything you want really. : )

I don't think anybody is exactly sure what they are, but AFAIK the term is most commonly used to refer to Spotify playlists in which the song titles are chosen and then arranged into sentences that comment on (or illustrate) a popular/viral internet meme of some kind.

Such a playlist might look something like this...

I Found a Reason (Velvet Underground)
To Talk To You (P.J. Harvey)
About the Weather (Magazine)
But It's So (Soundpool)
Lonely and Wet (The Mekons)
I Cant Stand It (The Specials)
So You'll Aim Toward the Sky (Grandaddy)
And Dream of Sheep (Kate Bush)
Until the End of the World (U2)
Which Will (Nick Drake)
Come Tomorrow (Dave Matthews Band)
If You Wear That Velvet Dress (U2)
Backwards (Coil)

Except that the resulting sentence doesn't reference a meme, so the other Spotify users would probably just ignore it and tell me to STFU. At best, they might tell me it's "cute" and then tell me to STFU. Either way, the whole thing tends to give unfair emphasis to song titles that begin with prepositions, which in most other contexts look rather pretentious and silly. That's why I don't usually participate in such things.

Great list. Lot of great songs. And as a matter of fact I'm always participating in theme lists on a different music site. It's like a game. Right now we're doing one with Streets, Roads etc. in the title. And a few other ones too. Let me get the link so you can see.
