Have to say I'm rather surprised at this one, but I guess something just didn't click. Given I literally discovered Geese in the last couple weeks of 2024, and then listening to Heavy Metal it was like everything I've been waiting for in this bleak decade.

Unfamiliar with both beforehand as well. The Cameron Winter track is more interesting but I feel like it might work better in context of the full record. As someone who hasn't heard the entire record I agree the song itself doesn't feel like it got to where it wanted to go. Rosali's track gets my vote, although I enjoyed both. Added both albums to my shortlist...but I'm so far behind who knows when I'll get to them.

i picked the one that looked mad. the first one, the one with the piano and velvet underground atmosphere, was nice enough, but it never felt like it got to where it was going, like a sentence that started, picked up momentum, made...

the deranged cover art is a clue, and i believe rosali emerged from the cornfield. it was such a brilliant idea that - sending her away. she was so deranged. and it certainly fits that cornfield better than peaksville. anthony always has such lovely ideas.

Cameron Winter for me. Unfamiliar with both before listening, but Nina+Field of Cops is a far more interesting composition. I found On Tonight quite middle ground. Don't think it suits the deranged cover art at all (unfortunately).

Rosali was cool, but the Cameron Winter track is fantastic. Another album I haven't got around to last year (in fairness it was released in December), but it obviously deserves a listen. I love it when a song is melodic, but unnerving and chaotic at the same time. Nina + Field of Cops is exactly that - incredible melodies over almost dissonant piano progression. The lyrics and vocals add to that as well.
