This is more the case for older albums, but occasionally the original year of release for an album might be unclear and the year on BEA might swing between different values. This then causes an associated impact on people's year & decade charts as albums might become ineligible for the charts in which they originally appeared (& points in those charts are then not awarded to those albums because albums only earn points in the associated year or decade that they are deemed to have been released).
