I quite like Beefheart, quite like Kanye, quite like the Smashing Pumpkins, quite like Tom Waits, quite like some Justin Bieber.

The only suggestion in this thread I fully agree with is with regards black and death metal. I hate it, but those of my friends who like it absolutely love it.

I don't care for Kanye's antics. It's all part of a marketing strategy. I just find Kanye's music to be simplistic, easy, repetitive, and plain boring.

I'm not trying to turn this into a Kanye West thread. However, he is a very polarizing figure, and appropriate for this discussion. As much as I dislike Kanye, to each his/her own.

As stated earlier, any genre way out there like really harsh industrial, goth, death metal and so on.

You can't kind of like Skinny Puppy. If you don't like or "get it" then you pretty much hate it.

They are 3 of my favorite artists, but I know a lot of people, especially people who listen mainly to radio, that can't stand any musicians who don't have typical "singer" voices. My mom and sister both can't stand all three, and they watch American Idol and listen to the radio...so sadly they're like about half of America
