One more, I'm indulging myself...and no, it's not a satanic refrain - it's derived from the expression "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't."

To me, the best lyrics I can think of now, "Like a rolling stone", by Dylan. The whole lyrics and, in particular, "You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you", a whole philosophy of life in one sentence.

Bob Dylan is almost unsurpassed as a lyricist.
I think the only albums that come close to Blonde on Blonde are Freewheelin' (by him), TMR (Beefheart), and maybe the Doors self-title.
