it really is that bad a song 🤣 and I agree with you on Video Games but I think what people find annooying with her was that throughout the year you couldn't get away from people "discovering" her and almost evrytime people would post 'Video Games' and be like "This girl is amazing you should all check her out!!!" etc

My favorite this year would be "Tromsø, Kaptein" by Robyn Hitchcock.

But where is Matana Roberts? I thought Pitchfork (and their readers) liked jazz, compared to all the Miles Davis albums in their best of the 70's list. I also believe they gave a John Coltrane album a perfect 10.0 once.

And i liked that Foster The People album. It's catchy, wussy, pop music.

It's alright. I don't like the #1 or James Blake, but I do like that they didn't ignore Radiohead as the P4k staff did. The best thing about that is the three songs of theirs that made the top 50 tracks. Lotus Flower was expected, but Bloom and Give Up a Ghost (and they're even higher on that list than Lotus Flower)? Awesome, they're also my three favourite songs from the album. The best video is also spot on, Yonkers was also my choice for the best video (and there are three more videos on this list that I also put on mine). And the song itself is at #4 which is also awesome.

About overrated tracks... Believe it or not, I never heard the Foster the People song before today, and it isn't that bad honestly.

yeah it is, minus M83 I'd take that (and though Tyler's album isn't good, at least some songs show some promise)

Don't know about most, but M83's last output is definitely overrated. I can't believe it's this album that'll open Gonzales the gate to the American market. Hope people will listen to his earlier stuff thanks to this though, somehow this late "indie" fame is deserved.

85% of what did well on the mainstream radio last year was better than Pumped Up Kicks. Even the god awful 'Lazy Song' was better. Just becausesomething has an 'indie' sound doesn't make it good.

You can't be serious?! 'Lazy Song' is one the worst assaults to the ears ever made! I have crows feet just from cringing to it. At least when 'Pumped Up Kicks' comes on and can say to my friends "Yeah, this is alright"

Destroyer's "Kaputt" should be higher. Also Beirut's "The Rip Tide" was the most underrated 2011 album by far far far.. God that record is good and I didnt see it in any top ten list except mine 🤡

Lets be fair "Video Games" and "Pumped Up For Kicks" both are good - over-played, yes but good. Just because they make it into the mainstream doesn't stop the fact they are good. When you have people like Bruno Mars being pumped into our ears every time we turn the radio on or walk into a shop, we should be supportive of the mere two decent songs to make it this year!
