Country is in a great spot right now and there's lots to discover. Turnpike Troubadours are somewhat legends in the Red Dirt scene and they haven't released a bad album to date. Their 2025 effort was fantastic as usual, but the 2010 record 'Diamonds & Gasoline' is nothing short of a classic.

Good info, thanks!

I had low expectations from this match-up, as I'm not really into country, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Nose on the Grindstone was certainly enjoyable, but Heaven Passing Through was simply fascinating. Despite being a seemingly simple, back-to-basics country song, there's something so warm and yet so effortless about it. I found myself immersed in its world. I'll definitely check the full album the first chance I get.

Great to hear! Country is in a great spot right now and there's lots to discover. Turnpike Troubadours are somewhat legends in the Red Dirt scene and they haven't released a bad album to date. This is blasphemy! This is madness!
Joking aside, I had low expectations from this match-up, as I'm not really into country, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Yikes! This a crazy tough one. But songs are highly worthy. Will let both of 'em sink in a bit over the next day...

All good, it'll at least be interesting for me to see the results. I don't think I'll vote in this matchup however.

Yeah I prefer the more intense, emotive style of Childers over the solid storytelling of the Troubadours here.

Yeah, not quite fair for a first round.
Don't like this.
Justice for Travelful.

I'm very sorry, Travelful, I should've gone over the brackets after the final sorting, I tried to get one nomination per user in each bracket but because some of the play-ins/shorter nomination lists that didn't quite end up working. At the very least, it created the most direct comparison of the first round.
