There's no explanation for this on Latlaus Sky's website, or anywhere else I could find. They're a husband 'n' wife new-age duo (Brett and Abby Larson) from Portland, OR, and my best guess would normally be that they called themselves "Judy Parker" the same way Vince Furnier called his band "Alice Cooper," only the real Judy Parker found out and sent them a cease-and-desist (or whatever) and they had to change it. That would also explain why the Latlaus Sky website doesn't say anything about it, but then, why is it still available on Amazon Music and Apple Music after all these years? Did they just not bother to take it down? And why would a new age duo call themselves "Judy Parker" in the first place? That's a terrible name for a new age duo.

I guess I could e-mail them and ask them what gives, since their e-mail address is on their Bandcamp page, but that seems a little creepy... so I'd prefer not to. Not important enough anyway.

That definitely qualifies as an album anomaly in my book. That is so weird and it would be interesting to find out why!

This is the sort of thing that I hoped would be unearthed in this thread

On a larger scale, I don't think that The Chicks much felt like doing a full recall to change their band name from Dixie Chicks on all of their albums out there in the universe. I wouldn't. That would suck trying to change that. I'm sure they have sizeable management enough to get it done on streaming services...a smaller time outfit like the former Judy Parker probably does not. Dealing with streaming services (which are already run by Satan) sucks balls. I wouldn't bother trying if I was them. Besides...all publicity is good publicity.

no text on the spine is a pet nuisance in a record shop

Also, I didn't want to make this claim earlier because it meant getting out of the chair, but I've just confirmed that my (original UK, I think?) copy of New Order's Power, Corruption and Lies has no text on the front or back, or on the spine. No text front-back-or-spine is probably the most unusual thing, before or after 1971, as far as no-text cover art is concerned.

There are probably tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of albums since Led Zep IV where no text appears on the front cover, and I would also guess a few thousand since that one where there's no text front or back, as well as a large number (maybe a few thousand) before Led Zep IV where no text appears on the front but there's some on the back. But if you're looking for albums released in 1971 or earlier that have no text (or at least no name/title) front or back, that could be a challenge. (I'd bet there are a few, though...)

I should add that there are probably some cases in or before 1971 where the original band/artist concept called for no text, but the record company was only obligated to go along with that for the "domestic" release — for example, Pink Floyd's Meddle (1971) had no text (other than the catalogue number) front or back on early versions in the UK, but everywhere else they added the name/title on the front as well as a track-listing on the back. (Same with 1970's Atom Heart Mother as I recall. Dark Side was like that too, but that was 1973, so...)

Of course, they would just place stickers over the shrink-wrap when bands insisted on that sort of thing, because record labels always know better.

Untitled (Led Zeppelin IV) (1971) by Led Zeppelin

One of the most famous album covers of all time but, neither the album title nor the band name appear on the album cover.

Can anyone thing of another album where both were not included on the cover?

NB - Led Zeppelin left their name and album title off the 1971 release to prove that their music could stand on its own without industry marketing or media hype

Thanks MJ. Really interesting points. I might never have spotted the 0 if I hadn't had this album as a features album last month and I've owned the album for more years than I care to admit. Just shows how little attention I paid to the paper circle.

Never thought of the value side of it. Never selling the album but as you say, the rareness doesn't translate into higher prices on the used market. Interesting

No big mystery here - "Henry" (or "Henry's Time") is simply the brief Martin Quittenton acoustic guitar piece that appears in front of "Maggie May" (track 1 on side 2 of the vinyl). It's often considered part of "MM" itself.

Yep, I absolutely understand how Henry fits into Maggie May, my query was that it is track 0 that I thought was quite rare. I've not seen another album with a track 0.

The other anomaly, which I think is probably rarer is that, on the paper circle it is listed as track 0. Now I understand why but does any other album have a track 0 either on the circle or sleeve.

The catalogue number tells the story — you've presumably got a UNI Records version, meaning it's probably a US import (UNI was one of the precursor labels for the Universal Music Group). It's probably one of these three pressings. As to why they added it in, that's the standard answer, namely "money." Back in 1969-70 it was still fairly common for people to release songs as as singles only, and "Sweet Caroline" was originally just a single, but because it was a hit the UNI guys figured they could sell more of that album after its initial sales "window" by throwing it on as a bonus track. They even did the exact same with UNI pressings of his previous LP, Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show — this pressing for example has "Sweet Caroline" tacked on at the very end.

It actually wasn't until the mid-70s that it became common for recording artists to have language in their contracts that gave them right-of-approval/refusal when foreign and secondary licensees wanted to monkey around with their albums' track-listings. I think the Beatles might even have been the first band to demand that right and actually get it, starting with Rubber Soul and Revolver — all their previous LPs had been monkeyed with pretty badly by Capitol Records in the US, and that's supposedly one of the reasons they approved the "butcher babies" cover photo for Yesterday and Today — that was their way of showing their displeasure about this very issue.

It's the 1969 UK release that I have and thanks for the link. I Hadn't appreciated that Sweet Caroline was originally only released as a single. It's such a quintessentially Diamond track that I just assumed that it was from an album. I don't own the Brother's Love album. Just wonder how many Diamond albums (excluding Greatest Hits) have Sweet Caroline on it? Thanks again for the feedback

Everywhere I look, including on BEA, the track listing goes from Holy Holy to Both Sides Now however, on my copy of the album, the track straight after Holy Holy is Sweet Caroline. The cover is also different with Sweet Caroline listed on the front below Until It's Time For You To Go

Does anyone have any explanations for this? Why is this pressing different?

Hi all. This might not be a thread that works but we have some very knowledgeable people on this site so i was thinking that, should you have a query about an album which deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected (i.e. the entry on this site) you can ask the question, as i have done below.
