I saw a Kate Bush video earlier, and it really reminded me of PJ Harvey. Anyone else think that's a valid 'across the ages' comparison ?

In my eyes, Rid of Me will always be her best album. She has many great albums, but Rid of Me stands head and shoulders about the rest.

The difference between her and those other artists, except maybe roxy music, is that she has released at least 6 highly regarded albums as opposed to the one to three essential albums of all of these other artists. she can boast both quality and quantity in her career as opposed to these other artists.

6?!?!? 😲 What 6 are these? The only one I've ever seen regarded as a classic is 'Rid Of Me'.

LCD Soundsystem, Daft Punk & Wu-Tang don't have the biggest discographies ever...But they've all released better work than PJ.

I'm just going to stop 😐 I like PJ Harvey a bit, but I think she's over-rated. That's my opinion. Done & done.

Yeah 😄 A few re-listens of Glory Box made me want to listen to Dummy again, and I finally liked it. I still haven't heard their s/t album, so I plan to do that soon 😄 & Third is growing on me (not as good as Dummy though...)

And I gave Exile another listen to a few weeks ago...Still sounds like uncohesive crap to me...Its kinda like the Beatles White Album...just sounds like some compiled b-side on 2 discs....

I haven't touched Astral Weeks in a long time 🤔 Might see if my opinions changed about that too.

I think she's one of the most overrated artists of the last 20 years.

Yeah. She's grossly over-rated. 🤡 She's not bad, but she certainly isn't what all the hype is. There's a handful of other artists that are similar to her that are better, and don't get nearly as much credit. Let England Shake was certainly not one of last years best's.

With that aside, Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea is a pretty good album 80/100, and even makes my top 100 of the 00's chart :)

I don't hate her, but I guess my dislike started last year with Let England Shake....That really wasn't that great of an album, and it got crazy acclaims.
