There are numerous versions of Mad World. But this particular live performance of it still sends shivers down my spine because it just seemed to be one of those magical moments when everything falls into place and you know that the people that were there experiencing it were all on the same unified frequency and in awe.

I find some radiohead songs to be pretty sad. There are some songs that just remind me of sad past times and it makes me cry. Jeff Buckleys 'Hallelujah' sometimes makes me cry but mainly because i think it is such a beautiful and sweet song thats why it makes me cry sometimes.

Neighbourhood#1 off the Funeral album by Arcade Fire has made me cry before. I was watching it on channel V and they were showing arcade fire play live at a festival and it was so beautiful!

In the other thread I posted these songs:

All very emotional, and for the first two I'd say they're just... Beautiful. There's a quote from South Park which fits here:
"The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before" (Butters Scotch)
I guess I feel that those songs (at least the first two) are in this vain, "reminiscent of good times kinda sad". I would add one more song to this list, For Martha by Smashing Pumpkins.

Though then there are songs which are just incredibly bleak, with no hope, that just make you feel... numb

And last but not least, a song from what is just about the most depressing album of all time, Dum Dum by a Serbian band Ekatarina Velika (although their follow up in 1993 was the happy-sound-depressing-lyrics kind of an album and as such probably just as depressing). This was made in 1991, when the wars in Yugoslavia started and when the country was torn apart.

Now this song is kind of what I described before with "reminiscent of good times kinda sad", except it leaves just. no. hope. whatsoever. Even the lyrics; "faded memories", "two people, left alone at the end", "cold blood, leaving a trail"... Damn.

Honourable mentions (brimming with emotions, maybe not depressing enough to make the list): Edit the Sad Parts, Radio Cure, Cocoon, Roads, It's a Fire, Sullen Girl, ...

Don't listen to these songs if you're depressed. If you are, and a bit like me, then there's a cure.
