Let me rephrase that: besides McCartney's bare feet, isn't that pretty much how they dressed at the time?

To my ears that sounds much less far-fetched than "funeral procession".

Isn't it more likely that their clothing is an answer to their early album covers, when they were all wearing the same outfits? (Just a theory. One of many that can be made from this album cover, just as you can from most if you try hard enough.)

And why would McCartney parody an album cover that is already a parody in itself?

Apparently The Beatles did it to egg on the "Paul Is Dead" theorists. To be honest I don't know what's true - but the story certainly fits the cover incredibly well and I like that. Either way, you have to admit - the choice of clothing on the cover, can't be random.

Well, Zappa actually died during the recording of "Weasels Ripped My Flesh", because they accidentally let weasels in the studio one day while recording and they ripped his flesh, and the title IS true. The Mothers thought it was really cool that the title had become true, and they eventually decided to include that cartoon on the cover too (they originally were going to put a photo of Zappa on it for a tribute, and also recorded a now-lost song "Weasels Did Rip His Flesh" about Zappa's death which they planned to add at the end of the album, but then thought that they should instead carry on with their careers and such, and replace Zappa with a look-alike who then had extensive training and such, to try to sing like Zappa, and basically do everything like Zappa would've and all), which worked for a while, as nobody could guess at first that Zappa had died, and the Mothers didn't let them know at first, either. But soon rumors grew, and a Mother (nobody knows which exactly) accidentally told his friend the truth, and without the Mothers (except that one possibly that I just mentioned) knowing it, the news spread among Zappa fans. No major newspaper would publish the news, though, as the one source they would possible have had, the Mother's friend (whose name was Zany Moron, by the way), was DEAD. Later, the fans decided to keep it a secret to themselves.

It's a sad story, really. But I have revealed the truth to the world finally.

Now I just hope Zappa's spirit doesn't kill me for this. Or The Mothers. 😨

Well...the Abbey Road cover is such an icon and it is pretty hard to disregard that and just look at these two as two square pictures. I voted for Abbey which may be because I failed at that task, but then again Weasels isn't that great a cover really. It's just a semi humorous cartoon drawing which for it's artistic quality has been upped every Sunday morning.

I'm torn. I nominated Zappa, for it's sheer randomness and originality. Plus it looks cool. 😎 However, Abbey Road is a seminal image. Perhaps a bit overused... I'll have to think about this one.
