The Paris team doesn't excite me at all, even though I like 3 of them. (Daft Punk can go funk themselves).

Yup and in this case it is making the decision really hard for me. NYC should win hands down but I only actually like 50% of the team 😕

Sonic Youth actually got their start in New York's no wave scene, and while they didn't keep the style for long it was pretty instrumental to their identity as a group, so I would argue that New York runs in Sonic Youth's veins, and vice versa.

The Ramones could ONLY be from New York - they are THE sound of the New York mid 70s punk scene...

I do give consideration when I am voting as to whether the bands are typical of the 'sound' of the city, rather than just a random birth place lottery!

Meh. It's fair, per say. It'd just make New York a totally beast team.

Public Enemy, in my eyes, aren't that great 😨 They sound like cheap hip-hop. Really corny stuff. Most people say they were the 'firsts' etc...But they really weren't.

I swear if It Takes A Nation Of Millions was released in the 2000's, it would've been discriminated as what not to do when making a hip-hop album 🫢

Oh hyeah, definitely one of the 5 best I've ever seen (which is amazing considering it's just 2 guys at some decks).

On a side note - I've never seen them in concert, but I've heard Daft Punk is absolutely crazy live. Anyone verify this?

Decided to go for New York. Simply because they have an overall better music scene (regardless of the 2 teams here). I just wish Public Enemy was switched out with the Strokes or Vampire Weekend..or the National...or LCD Soundsystem...or the Talking Heads..or Wu-Tang at least.

Daft Punk's the only team I constantly appreciate on the Paris team (it's not even Parisian, but then only Justice are). NYC's a great team. NYC.
