top 10 + 1 for punk and indie:
Velvet Underground- Nico (duh)
Sex Pistols- Nevermind the Bollocks (no punk)
Nirvana- Nevermind (way different 90s/00s indie)
The Clash- London Calling (encouraged eclectic music for punks)
The Ramones- The Ramones (invented the punk song)
Stooges- Raw Power (no punk)
Velvet Underground-White Light/ White Heat (no punk)
Stooges- Fun House (no punk)
Black Flag- My War (no grunge)
Radiohead-OK Computer (no 00s indie)

Talking Heads-Fear of Music (no Radiohead)

N.B. without punk, indie would be much (unrecognisably) different

I totally agree with you Maxxy and nice picks for Radiohead's influences. There are a few more but those bands i'd say are their main influences along with joy division, can, and pink floyd.

I think johnnyrocketfingers has made a good point. By the time OK Computer ended britpop was dying or already dead. And Radiohead aren't very similar to Oasis, Stone Roses, etc. Radiohead's main influences were bands like The Pixies, the Smiths, Talking Heads,... Although I think they were influenced by Suede, but maybe I'm wrong.

Yes, many bands have tried to copy Radiohead's sound (Coldplay, anyone?), but now I'm just restating what's already been said.

First of all the Britpop era ended with Morning Glory in 1995 and OK Computer was 1997 so good point there buddy.

Second You have no idea what you are saying those bands (besides Muse and Coldplay) are the main bands influenced by OK Computer and to say that they are is an insult to Radiohead's music. Bands that are influenced by Radiohead are The Beta Band, Argentine, Arcade Fire, The Verve, The Good, The Bad, And The Queen, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, etc.

Third Radiohead is not a more melodic version of Oasis, The Stone Roses, Blur, and Suede. That would be The Verve. Once again, good call. Radiohead is, if anything to do with Britpop bands, a much more experimental version of them.
Daydream Nation further developed noise rock and was definitely influential towards indie and noise rock.

But i still disagree with OK Computer being extremely computer. It's mainly an Indie Electronic album but there had already been many electronic albums dating back to 1967 with Terry Riley. And Indie rock had already been established by the American Underground in the early 80's and British Indie by Bands on labels such as Silvertone, Bella Union, and Korova. during the 80's too.

Also bands such as "Coldplay, Muse, Travis, Snow Patrol, Keane, Starsailor etc." don't sound like OK Computer.
OK Computer isn't nearly as influential as many people think, but as i said before it is a musical masterpiece.

OK Computer is a fantastic album but i don't think it is very influential. Electronic music was already be used by many bands My Bloody Valentine used the same kind of guitar feedback with their ground breaking "Loveless". I don't think OK Computer is very influential, but it is a musical masterpiece.

As far as Depeche Mode go, yes they were influential to electronic music but their influence isn't the same Terry Riley, Klaus Schulze, Frankie Knuckles, Afrika Bambaattaa, Aphex Twin, and Tangerine Dream.

I never really liked them, but you need to admit - they live their marks on many other artist's albums already and many to come...

Martin Gore was just an awesome composer of electronic music...I say 'was' because he's rather lost his touch (Exciter was pretty bad and Playing The Angel was just okay - not that I won't get the new one coming out next year).

Pretty much every electronica artist in the 90s had some influence from DM. Too bad none of them took the strong singing of Gahan and Gore to heart, as well;) I'd say Black Celebration, Music For The Masses, and Violator would be the strongest and most influential core of their work.

The Cure actually are also the driving influence for the whole emo scene that was thriving a couple of years ago, and of course Disintegration is their penultimate influential album. Now that I think about it, I really should pick it up some day 🤣
