there are no best songs on this album, my favorites are probably "the thing that should not be" and "disposable heroes". my least favorite is probably battery.

The first time I saw Metallica was in 2006, 20 years after Master of Puppets was released so I was lucky enough to see them perform the entire album. I don't listen to as much 'heavy' music as I did back then, but the fact I still listen to this album is testament to how good it is. THE hard rock album of the 1980's.

I prefer Ride the Lightning, maybe because it's the one that set the tone for how Metallica paced their albums but I absolutely love this as well.

I could write a book about how much this album blows my mind. But now that my mind is blown a few words are all I can manage.

Well, MOP is at #3 on my 80's chart. A chart I spent a great deal of time agonizing over though only one member has rated it 🙁

I can't pick my favorite on this album, but I can the most underrated.

In general they do but you can love the hell out of metal and find MoP lacking. In fact most of the people I know who have a negative opinion of this album are metalheads.

If you are referring to my comment then that is not good proof that people hate metal on this site because I do not hate metal at all. I appreciate Metallica and other metal bands as well. It's just very difficult to find an innovative and creative metal band. One metal band that I do really like is the Olympia, Washington duo Wolves in the Throne Room. Their most recent album called Celestial Lineage is really good. If you are really into metal you should check it out. Even if you're not that into metal you should check it out.

This album is way overrated. Master of Puppets is good but not great. Probably Metallicas best album. The only two Metallica albums worth listening to are Master of Puppets and Ride The Lightning. This album is a bit too angry and cheesy and overly dramatic. I do like this album. I just think it is overrated and I don't think it's very creative. I would give it a 75/100 or an 80/100.

The first two tracks are flawless. Beyond that, the album tends to be a little hit-and-miss (with the exception of Leper Messiah, which is also flawless). Still, definitely a classic.

I like a lot of Metallica's offerings. Ride the Lightning, Kill 'Em All, and Metallica ("The Black Album") are three of my all-time favorite albums. However, there's just something about this particular one that makes this album a little less desirable for me. I could never pinpoint exactly why this album doesn't rank up there with the other three when it comes to my ears...it just doesn't.

Some things are rated, but then sometimes you rate something and you're like, "Whoa, I over-rated this thing."
