I consider ATTOT, W&W & ATTWT as the transitional genesis period. Trick and Wuthering still have enough prog-genesis to sound like the gabriel era. ATTWT though sounds like a completely-collaborative effort between the 3 remaining members, as opposed to the phil-dominated sound starting with Duke.

I agree that I seem to be the only one who puts the cut with the departure of Gabriel. Everyone I know puts it at the departure of Hackett. It's just that for whatever reason, Wind and Wuthering is one of those albums which I feel I should love but for some mysterious reason I never got.

You don't have to know a song or songs from an album which is considered to be a classic. You can only hear post-Gabriel Genesis songs on the radio, because they made more popular music, so this is the reason. You will never songs like 'In the cage' or 'The colony of Slipperman' on the radio...though they are absolutely great pieces of music.

I'm with you JMan. I think Invisible Touch is their best. I don't get the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway at all and rank it very low. I prefer the Phil Collins Genesis over Peter Gabriel Genesis as a whole.

I'm starting to confuse myself. Basically, I thought joj was saying that I know I'll like an album I've never heard.

I wasn't saying Selling England was a bad album. I just think Invisible Touch is underrated.

Sorry, I meant to say that you don't need to already have heard some songs on an album beforehand in order for you to like the album once you listen to it.
