Apparently, Sgt. Pepper is the 14th most out there album of all time. I mean it's hardly even among the 50 most out there albums, and here you find it at #14. The White Album was more out there than Sgt. Pepper.

I think was made with a combination of "out-there"-ness and actual artistic quality in mind. They don't want to publish a list of albums that are extremely strange and almost unlistenable. Still, with that in mind Sgt. Pepper shouldn’t be anywhere near it. You're right, The White Album, Revolver, heck even some of McCartney’s solo albums are more strange and experimental than Pepper.

Then again. We could just be thinking that because of how much we’re all just so used to it and its influence. Still shouldn’t be that high though.

Glad to see White Light/White Heat there though.

I like the music. A good album, and the concept is, to say the least, brilliant of course.

But yes, none of their best work is on it.

And those two laughing emoticons, when placed like that, have a very funny/disturbing effect of making the laughing faces seem more.......insane. You know, like they have a screw loose somewhere.

And that they're twins side by side.

Exactly. What do they mean by "out there?" Is it the lyrics, the music or both? Or is there some other element to it? If it's the lyrics, then Sgt Pepper sort of belongs there for Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Mr. Kite, and Within You, Without You(both musically and lyrically). Same goes for some of the lyrics on Axis: Bold as Love. Musically though, those albums are very straight forward. Did the Flaming Lips get mentioned at all?

Royal Trux's first two albums could fit there easily.

Maybe Pussy Galore, but I haven't heard their complete albums yet.

Where is Lee Ranaldo's From Here to Infinity? This is an album made up of noise and drones all on stick grooves. The vinyl is clear so you get mixed up with the tracks on eitherr side when you are trying to place your stylus after you have been listening to the same stick groove for up to 20 minutes. In addition to this, one side has an etched snake eating it's tail. If you accidentally set your stylus down on this, you could have stylus damage.
As a concept, it is certainly out there.
