So Big Boi and Kate Bush may do a collaboration. And if that isn't the greatest music news in the world (Outside of details on MBV's third) I don't know what is.

Shows the hypocrisy in Washington - quite a few members of the current administration (including Tim Geithner who heads up the Treasury Department and, thus, the IRS) are tax dodgers and not only got to stay out of jail, they all got high paying government jobs.

I may have read it wrong, but I saw that she earned $1.8million in the years 2005-7, and she's owes tax of above that amount from that exact period. That's 100% tax. With six children. 😕

Hope they'll be ok :(

"ITV reports that Baroness' bus crashed near Bath, England today, falling thirty feet over a viaduct. Nine passengers were on the bus; two were brought to Bristol's Frenchay Hospital with "serious" injuries according to ITV, while seven sustained minor injuries and were brought to Bath's Royal United Hospital."

That's why Brassknocker Hill was closed earlier! Fuck this is a weird coincedence, those guys at the RUH are literally a few hundred metres from me, if they're still there.

Anyway hope they're all fine. Please visit thisisbath.com to hear locals moaning about which roads should have HGV restrictions.

Fucking hell, thankfully no-one died. I really like Baroness too, they were great when I saw them in Camden a couple years back.

As starting points I'd recommend the following, they're fairly eclectic compilations looking at lots of aspects of the scene:

5: Five Years of Hyperdub (an overview of Kode9's Hyperdub label)
Mary Anne Hobbs' Warrior Dubz (early DMZ-esque dubstep, mixed with darker grime)
Steppas' Delight 1
Steppas' Delight 2 (both the Steppas' Delight collections are really varied, something for everyone here)
Box of Dub
Box of Dub 2 (both the Box of Dub collections deal in the classic early dubstep sound, good introductions)
Hessle Audio: 116 & Rising (a sampler of the Hessle Audio label, progressive dubstep with lots of house influences)
Back and 4th (a good look at the early future garage scene)
Future Bass (another really varied selection, not quite as good as the Steppas' Delight series though)
Soundboy Punishments (very dark - but not "filthy" or full of 'wub' sounds - dubstep from Shackleton and Appleblim)
Caspa & Rusko Present FabricLive 37 (a decent mix of early brostep, sadly its' popularity helped lead to dubstep's slow demise but it's certainly worth a listen)

Hope that helps. If you like any of the above let me know and I'll recommend some LP's.

I don't pretend to know anything about dubstep culture or history, so that's probably why I don't see what you guys are talking about. I've heard both Skrillex EPs, and while they weren't great, they weren't terrible either. In fact I like a couple of his songs. I always thought he had a pretty original sound (even if it was at times "wub heavy"). Maybe I'll give a listen to some of the stuff you guys mentioned to use as a comparison.

His fans being predominantly douchebags is something I can't control though, and I'm guessing he can't either.
