Jesus Jones, which should be known I like them by now. Particularly good electronica from them are February (off their 4th album Already), Motion (also from Already), all of their 3rd album Perverse (especially The Devil You Know, Zeroes and Ones, Magazine, The Right Decision, and Idiot Stare), and b-sides Natural State of Gray and Change of Seasons.

Also like some of Tricky, Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Crystal Method. Pop Will Eat Itself is a little more sampling than pure electronica, but close enough, and they're great at it. Really like Gary Numan, going old school. I'm willing to bet he's one of the biggest influences on all the groups in the 90s - I know a large number of them contributed to the Gary Numan tribute album (Random) which was a double-CD jobber.

Tops of all, though, is Depeche Mode, particularly pre-90s.

They actualy had a idea that The Black Room would be a collaboration with Extreme Noise Terror and they even performed together at the Brit Awards.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_WJmllicQU

Also, I want to get "Chill Out" (the album that came before The White Room) a lot. It's much more ambient oriented than the house/dance music of The White Room.

I know! When i read about that it made me a little sad. I love the KLF's work but there personalities were so explosive, diverse, and far out from the norm that there was no way they could have put up with the money-making centered big labels forever. They even deleted all the master tracks and backing tracks from their albums on the computers.

I got U.F.Orb by The Orb this morning and just had my first full listen through of the album and it's fantastic. It's almost 120 minutes long, another double LP following their debut which is about the same length, and it follows the debut by less 8 months. It seems unreal that a band was able to make 2 double LPs both close to 2 hours that are both fantastic albums. The Orb's Adventures... invented Ambient House and U.F.Orb further defined Ambient House and created a new form of Ambient Dub.

Both are highly recommended

Here's something interesting i just read about The KLF, a highly popular electronic band in Britian between 1988 to 1994.

"From the outset, they adopted the philosophy espoused by esoteric novel series The Illuminatus! Trilogy, gaining notoriety for various anarchic situationist manifestations, including the defacement of billboard adverts, the posting of prominent cryptic advertisements in NME magazine and the mainstream press, and highly distinctive and unusual performances on Top of the Pops. Their most notorious performance was at the February 1992 BRIT Awards, where they fired machine gun blanks into the audience and dumped a dead sheep at the aftershow party. This performance announced The KLF's departure from the music business, and in May 1992 the duo deleted their entire back catalogue."

Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_klf

I've been listening to more techno lately (basically 90s electronica/rave sped up really fast) and i really like it. Techno seems to get a bad wrap for whatever reason but theres some really talent in the genre. In particular I like:

Moby
Plastikman
Derrick May
Juan Atkins
Inner City
The Black Dog (AKA Black Dog Productions)
Frankie Knuckles
Moodymann
Underworld

The term electronica can be a little confusing, but I think lastfm did a great job on the definition:

http://www.last.fm/tag/electronica/wiki

Anyway, there are so many great artists, a few I really like:

Autrechre
Aphex Twin
Squarepusher
Venetian Snares
Gas
Alva Noto
Beefcake
Black Sun Empire
Boards of Canada
Byetone
Global Communication
Tim Hecker
Oval
Proem
