imo 2010 was a huge year for music and all the "peaks" of their "albums-per-year" line graph lined up with the best years of the 2000s -- 2000, 2003, 2007 & 2010.

Thinking about the genre thing and the overall dominance of Radiohead in every genre, it might be because they had a bunch of prescribed albums to choose from, and you can imagine if people are in a hurry, and or lazy that they might just go with whatever obvious choices jump out at them first. And there were some terrible omissions, some of which were inexplicable like leaving off Car Wheels on a Gravel Road by Luncinda Williams. I would think the average Americana fan would have that in their top 10 (paging Romanelli). Shit! I had it in my top 20 or 30, and I defined myself as a rock fan. But, in PF's defense, it was possible to write in albums, but let's face it: People are lazy and or busy, so they tend to go with what's easiest.

You mention earlier in the thread that BEA members are little different to those at Pitchfork. Well I am far different from this list. Plus I don't wear music like a fashion item either. I'm sure a lot of people here don't do that as well.

Well, you're different in many ways. I wasn't saying every person here has the exact same taste as this list, but BEA does have both of those Radiohead albums in its top 10, as well as some the list's top 10 in its top 20. That's a fact and it's not just a coincidence.

Paladisiac: Good point. It's important to remember that this list does start at 1996, and some great 90's records came out before that.

I couldn't figure out how to check out the different genres. 🤔 🫢 That is kind of weird that OK Computer dominates every genre. 😕 I've said it before though, whether you think it's overrated or not, it's still a great album, and apparently is considered a classic by many, as this list attests.

Only 29 UK albums!!!! 😲
And only 17 albums from Non-English speaking countries ...

88% of the voters are males... females don't like music or don't like Pitchfork...
And female artists on the list are all lower than they deserve ...

They mostly voted for recent albums, they forgot the late 90s ... 2010 is the year with most albums, 1996 and 1998 (both great years) are the ones with less albums ... 🧱

The Top3 is great (and predictable), but the rest ... 🫵

Not exactly. Only albums from 1996 - 2011 qualified for this list.

Obviously I'm not going to be a fan of the top 10. But it's not that bad overall (B&S at 31 😁 ). It's one dimensional as fuck but it was always gonna be. The metal one is pure fucking shit though. And Ok Computer was still #1 amongst metal fans? Fuck me...

Also 88% male hahaha. Hipsters are going to have a hard time reproducing.
