Well last night was brutal. I hope your wrong, I can't stand the Ravens and I would hate to watch that asshole murderer finish his career with a Super Bowl. I think you might be right though. I really wouldn't be surprised to see either team win. Should be interesting either way.

I personally hate ties because it's just so unsatisfying at the end of the game (match). It's nice to have a resolution one way or another, and a tie seems to leave you hanging in the balance. I was glad when hockey ditched the tie for a shootout after overtime, although I wish overtime was a bit longer. And I love how in playoff hockey it's overtime until someone finally scores. I wish they did that in European Football, a shootout seems like a very cheap way to win a playoff/championship match.

As for the Broncos, the Patriots already beat them this year, but I must say if they end up having to go to Denver that would be a tough matchup and could easily go either way.

Slagging off a sport you don't like is like slagging off a genre of music you don't like. I don't see the point of it. Each to their own I say.

I can enjoy watching nearly any sport because it's the competition as much as what's actually going on that's exciting. Watching teams or individuals compete for high stakes is fun and if you have an investment of any kind in either team winning then that makes it even more fun.

EDIT: To add to this I'm sure I can think of 50 reasons why I enjoy rugby more than either football (soccer) or football (American) but it would just be my personal opinion. To go back to my original analogy it would be like me listing 50 reason why I prefer rap to metal, it would just be a personal opinion. Essentially which sport you prefer is as subjective as which genres or bands you like best and there's no point arguing over which is better.

Why play?

Since 1974, there have been only 18 ties in the NFL. Only 5 since 1989.

In 2012, there were 81 tie games in the MLS.

Also, in the English League, how do you cheer for the 24th place Peterborough United???

As for #6...that's just not necessary, and isn't part of the game at all. It's soccer announcers trying to make American football sound like their game.
