It's hard to belive that these three classic albums came out 21 years ago. And they don't sound dated in the least. In fact, The Low End Theory happens to be my favorite hip hop album. Its a perfect blend of hip hop and jazz.

Jesus,didn't know about those two.Can you imagine they were all released on the same day with the media the way it is today,the internet would explode.Probably the best day for album releases ever,any other days with this amount of 'classic' albums released on the same day does anyone know?I know Midnight Marauders and 36 Chambers were released the same day,but that's about it.

Anyways,was a huge Nirvana fan when I was younger,around the time they released their greatest hits and I love Nevermind,but I've grown away from it as time went by.

RHCP were alright I thought when I was younger,they're a bit shit though.

The Low End Theory is perfect,I can't articulate how I feel about it so I won't try.All i'll say is,it's probably my favorite album.

Im from Seattle, so obviously I hate grunge. (no really its a good album, just have heard every. song. off of it. at. least. a. million. times) Never listened to BSSM all the way through, though never want to hear any of the singles ever again (listened too much to the radio when I was younger). Ah, now The Low-End theory. I think it's the one that has aged the best, and also not ruined by endless radioplay. It's also one of the smartest albums out there, without being too smart for it's own good.

I was 19 when Nevermind came out, and you couldn't just possibly avoid "Smells Like Teen Spirits", it was every rock fan's revenge on the horrid charts that were put up at the time in France. Discovering it later (at age 23 or something, when I got more interested in rap thanks to, of all bands, Arrested Development!), I was instantly in love. The only great album in those three.

Wow, had no idea. Blood Sugar Sex Magik I got almost right after it came out, I was really looking forward to it after Mothers Milk turned me on to them. BSSM was and still is insane, there's nothing else like it, it's pure chaotic instinctive energy. I think that album showed me the power music could have in terms of conveying strong emotions, as well as the personality and passion a song could have. In my top 10.

Nevermind took me a little longer, I don't remember, I probably got it that winter sometime. I wish I could remember where I was the first time I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit on the radio, that would probably make a great story. A real classic, almost the definition of a perfect album. Any one of the songs on it could have done what Smells Like Teen Spirit did, they're all awesome.

A Tribe Called Quest was never my thing really but I thought they were okay.

One turgid album that I used to (just about) tolerate at my friends' house while we got high.
One pretty good album (albeit vastly overrated) which inspired me to learn the guitar, amongst other records.
