Good point. Honestly, they probably could have, but Elvis definitely had the voice that worked best. Now that I think about it, Elvis was very fabricated, except he fabricated himself. He made HIMSELF the white guy that the blues music needed to break out of the African-American sphere.

Elvis. From what I've been able to see The Beatles seemed very fabricated. Elvis let loose and did his thing. The Beatles annoyed me plus they quit playing live (WHAT GIVES!?) Who does that? That's one of the most important parts of music to me. Plus I hate the Beatles haircuts and all the little head-bobbing and "ooohhs" and "aaaahhs" they sing.

To keep it fair, I'm only comparing The Beatles' pre-Help! wok with Elvis' work, since after that, the Beatles became much more than Elvis could have, seeing the era. So, I think that Elvis sang great, and he has some great songs and a few good albums (including some awesome compilations). However, The Beatles had much more variety even in their early period which Elvis couldn't have been capable of. Compare "Twist and Shout" (a cover, something which Elvis was good at) with anything off ELVIS' debut. See the difference? The Beatles' work was more impressive. Elvis has an important place in the '50s, but The Beatles have an even more important place in the early '60s. That's just my opinion, and some people may think that Elvis did have an influence on the Beatles, then Elvis is certainly to be chosen over them. Some people may even think that Elvis' work was far better than The Beatles' early work.

I think it is unfair to compare generations of music. Having said that, I think the fact that Elvis was worshiped by the Beatles has some weight to it.

Overall Beatles win by far.
