After quick youtube listens of Neu!, Death From Above, and a couple of songs from ELP's Trilogy, I decided to go with 2004.

1972 has perfect singles, but I think at least three albums in the 2004 team do more for me, than any of the 4 albums on the 1972 teams... So, despite still not hearing Exile in its entirety, I have to go with 2004. If nothing else, so I'll at least vote in one of the current four matches.

2004 is okay. I like a couple of the albums and Take Me Out is a great single, but there's nothing in its line up that competes with Exile on Main Street and #1 Record.

DFA1979 and Newsom are nice, but on the strength of Neu! and Big Star, 72 gets my vote. Now if the 04 team had Madvillainy...

For me considering that Take me out is one of the best songs I have ever heard and Good news is a great album plus Hot fuss being The killers best album, 2004 has won by a long shot. 1972 didn't have anything that stood out too much. Best there was Neil young.
