Was expecting this to be a tough matchup, but I will give another shot at promotion here:

I like the music to speak for itself, but to sum up my team I would say: if the world's on fire, why not have some fun dancing in the flames?

The Flaming Lips- Embryonic

As paranoid, bizzare and just plain zoinked out as the best of the Flaming Lips works, it's a surprisingly heavy and aggressive record that may be among the strangest things they've ever done (and with the Lips, that's definitey saying something), and it's a record with as much as ideas to match it's gigantic ambition.

Dirty Projectors- Bitte Orca

Just a great record that seems to traverse the globe in it's short half-hour plus running time, running so strikingly from many different styles (from many different cultures) and yet managing to pull 'em all together to create one often jarring, quite wild yet very beautiful musical free-for-all.

Raekwon- Only Built for Cuban Linx pt 2

Don't need any fancy words to describe this one, just a purely excellent hip-hop LP made by the genre's finest, a seamless mix of old and new styles that help form this wild beast of a record.

including Washed Out's single and Fuck Buttons were great choices ! plus there's nothing really nice from 1988 (listened to House of Love and it was just okay).
Once again my vote goes to 2009 :)
