Love Goes to Buildings on Fire by Will Hermes

One of my absolute favorite books. This is about the New York music scene during the mid 70s. It's not just about the rock bands either. He extensively writes about 70s NYC hip hop, latin, disco, jazz, Steve Reich and Philip Glass. As a New Yorker I found it mesmerizing but i think any music lover would appreciate it

AMAZING book - just been reading it whilst on holiday in the Canaries.

There's 3 books in my original post - the Mojo one and two by the same author - "This Is Uncool" and "Fear of Music" by Garry Mulholland.

There are literally 100s of good ones! It all depends whether or not you like a biography-type book on a chosen artist/genre, or something you can dip in and out of without having to spend hours sifting through to find something interesting...

I like music books of trivia, ones that you can dip in and out of and learn new things. i have mozipedia, hard days write, 1001 albums you must hear before you die etc any other good ones out there?
