I think you mean "namesake."
Eponymous is used to refer to the artist.

Some great ones have already been mentioned, but besides those:

Barrett
Royal Trux (1988)
Pink Floyd (the US version of Piper, so not sure if it counts)
Catherine Ribeiro + 2 Bis
Neu! (don't remember if it was mentioned)
The United States of America (same as Neu)
The Soft Machine
Exuma

Off my charts, the magnificent 27 :

Bert Jansch
The Velvet Underground
Silver Apples
Jackson C Frank
Howlin' Wolf
The Beatles
The Stooges
Fred Neil
Tim Buckley
Judee Sill
Suicide
The Raincoats
Ramones
The Undertones
The Clash
Duncan Browne
Bill Fay
Specials
Violent Femmes
Beat Happening
The Smiths
The Stone Roses
Mark Hollis
Red House Painters
Tindersticks
The La's
cLOUDDEAD

If numbered LPs could count, then Neu! 2, Tim Hardin 1, Meat Puppets II, Diabologum #3, Faust IV and Scott 3 would make it.

The Beatles is a strong contender, but I'm glad to see people mention Iron Maiden, because their first album is not only the best s/t, it's probably the best debut as well. Unless I forget something...

Metallica - Metallica (The Black Album)
The Beatles - The Beatles (The White Album)
Weezer - Weezer (The Blue Album)

I haven't heard Weezer, but I figured I'd put it there with the other color/eponymous albums.

Just kidding, they're all right. I'd say their debut is pretty weak though in comparison to later stuff if theirs and also other records by similar bands, Yes' eponymous debut, for example

Sorry, didn't notice your follow-up reply until just now, yeah, we can pretty much agree on that except the Yes part.

Ironically, that's what I've tried to tell hundreds of people here, so since they didn't listen I guess I gave up.

So I'll get back on topic! The Doors is really good, and so is Van Halen.

You're welcome! Don't let the others bug you. Take this from a man with ADHD and an obsession with Meat Loaf: anything different on this website is seen as a target to some of these people. Some are actually really nice, but still find different opinions off color. All in all, these humans fear what they don't understand. We are different, you and I.

You do understand that the PM facility is there to send these kinds of messages rather than clogging up the forums with a lot of off topic stuff...?

Can you please do that in future?
