It's seriously sad that genuinely decent people like you are possibly getting chucked in jail just for using a harmless, recreational drug. There's so much wrong in the world, scaring people like this won't solve anything.

Imagine all the money they spend on locking away kids for using cannabis being spent on rehabilitating emotionally damaged criminals who have committed real crimes.

apparently with my probation in the mix, jail time is an actual possibility (according my lawyer). fuck.

I have, in the past, underestimated the severity of your punishments. Buuuuuuut, whilst I'm wary of making the same mistake, I think you'll be fine. Or at least I hope so. Anyway, stop getting caught man. But good luck.

Move to my home state of Washington, as long as you don't smoke it out in broad daylight and don't carry a large quantity the authorities won't even bat an eyelash.

This is true, also we have medicinal licenses. Also California is awesome.
