This weekend I'm either gonna do stuff for uni (and I have a LOT to do), or I'm gonna wallow in my own self pity, watch movies, listen to music, and just be an all around lazy ass.

Aww, well hope everybody does have some fun this weekend, given working an overnight shift with a cold during a snowstorm is not an ideal way to spend it, especially for someone with Irish blood during St Paddy's Day weekend. Oh well, everybody be safe (but don't be boring)

As for my night, I'm currently at my girlfriend's parents for the weekend. It's nice here, but her mother has pretty conservative values and so we don't get to sleep in the same bed. It used to bug me loads when I first began to visit but I now find it quite endearingly quaint really. Tomorrow we're going to see an Afrobeat band (for whom her brother provides turntablism, i.e. he pisses about on the decks doing a bit of scratching whilst they play), which gives me a good excuse to get drunk and have a laugh. We travel back to London on Sunday afternoon, so hopefully I'll have time for a few pints of the black stuff at my local before St. Patrick's Day is over for another year. I've always preferred being in Birmingham, my home town, to being in London on Paddy's Day, but to be honest it's always a fun day wherever I find myself. Having said that, I'm beginning to miss home quite a bit these days. Might see if I can get back there one weekend soon, a smoke and a drink amongst old friends and family certainly wouldn't go amiss, not to mention a trip down to The Hawthorns to see my beloved Baggies play. Meh, this is probably getting a tad wistful now. Anyway, I hope you're all enjoying your respective weekends, whatever you're doing.
