I never read it anywhere, I just hear the vocal styles and other elements I don't know how to describe to be similar.

I wonder why there is so much Red Hot Chili Peppers hate on this site... other than that I would agree that most of those artists shouldn't be highly ranked, but maybe not hated, which is what you are possibly insinuating?

As I am listening to the discographies, or at least their top ten, I have come to realize, as I am sure many of you could agree, that you have a different opinion of what the top ranked bands should be.

I probably will get a lot of flack for saying this, but David Bowie, Arcade Fire (Funeral is amazing, but the rest of their stuff I find blah, and their style is just a revisit of Talking Heads), The Smith's, Bruce Springsteen, could be replaced by better bands. The Doors for example, although saddened they kicked out R.E.M. from the top 20, definitely deserve to be in the top 20 over Arcade Fire.

Anyways, those are my two cents... what's your list? The catch is you can only move around the top 200, not add or subtract.
