No, their peak was when they made Alan Wilder a full member when they were making Some Great Reward, and it lasted until one album after he left (Ultra). Don't ask me why they still managed one very good album after. The last one, Sounds of the Universe, was also good and their best since Ultra. Delta Machine isn't at that level...it's better than Exciter or Playing the Angel, though.

I've got it now, too...my opinion is it doesn't get good until halfway through. First half of the album is complete crap.

In a perfect world I'd somehow convince Alan Wilder to rejoin the band. Or at least produce them.

Their newest release is better than most of the other big name bands (e.g My Bloody Valentine, Atoms for peace, The Strokes, Tegan and Sara, and etc.), but I'm not a huge fan of it. Turns out to be very slightly above average.

I'm happy that Depeche Mode are back with a new album. Delta Machine is a pretty good album and is definitely worth buying.

A few songs off Violator are decent. Other than that I think I've listened to some of their works but I forgot what they were like.

Haven't heard anything other than the lead single off the new album which I wasn't impressed with, but it was a live performance on Letterman so I'll reserve judgement until I hear the studio version.

A true musician doesn't stop making music just because they are old.

It's like saying, I love listening to music, but when I 50, please everyone, remind me to stop because it isn't cool to listen to music when you are 50.
