Wedard makes some really great shoegaz-y drowny black metal thats kind of similar (or maybe more similar to Coldworld and i saw you liked TheStarsAreDeadNow 😉 ). Id check out Wo die Ewigzeit... or Einsamer Winterweg but they have a handful of really good albums.

If youre looking for something a little less.. digestible, Screech Owl by Wold has a pretty noisy atmosphere and some very strange distortion going on.

And lastly for now Constantly Creating Myself in the Space of Life by Cold Empty Universe. Its kind of similar in that it melds both ambient and chaos together. A little different in terms of their overall sound (CEU is more space-y) but there are some similarities.

Oh. Well the Mean Girls character is named after the artist. They even play some Janis Ian in the movie. I don't remember which song though. It was one of the hits from Between the Lines so I'm guessing it was either At Seventeen or In the Winter.

Kid artists are hard to get behind for me...they just seem to be used for their image and the writing is usually pretty predictable...I do like "younger" acts like Jake Bugg, but that is as close as it gets for me.

outside of the jackson 5, i can't think of any that i've only liked for a handful of songs (like new edition, kris kross or hansen).
