People still care about Pitchfork? How long have I been under this rock? Do we need air to live? Should I grow a bigger penis? Does the internet have cancer? Why did I just kill my brother? Who the fuck keeps asking these questions?

Happymeal wrote:

All albums are overrated, in my opinion. If they don't place exactly on the spot I have them on my chart, then they're overrated, unless they place far below it (e.g. OG: Original Gangsta, Bang bang, Source Tags and codes, and etc.), then they are underrated, but then I have those albums which are fairly close (e.g Moon and Antarctica, Remain in light, In the court of king crimson, and etc.) to which people typically slate them to be and I think that they're fine as far as being overrated and underrated goes.

So overall, almost everything is overrated or underrated, but a few aren't

anything that p4k gives a 10 to is not underrated

I never said it was a conspiracy theory. And I never said every user did it. Just a wide variety of the people who fall under the category: "newbies who just throw in a chart and possibly leave this site after joining for good a couple weeks." Some may actually like Radiohead. But I've dealt with these kind of people before.

Nevermind is a 4 star album. The major flaw is that many tunes are decent, but a couple are crap. But the production value fixes all that. That's why it's currently my number 23.

But it's not a top 10 album. It's definitely one of the most beloved, but it's an 8.5.

noWaxJim wrote:

Ironically enough, and in spite of my comments posted almost in sync with yours, I would suggest that the Pistols album is over-rated musically. As a statement and touchstone of the English c.'77 punk movement, perhaps not, but as a musical document, it pales in comparison to the Ramones' debut, the Buzzcocks' Spiral Scratch EP (more punk than the Pistols in terms of musicality and what it represents - have you ever heard Boredom?) and Lydon's early exploits with PiL, especially Metal Box.

Hmm, I find it hard to disagree with you when you put it like that and Now that I think about it the main reason why The Sex Pistols album is so popular is because that they were the band that kick started British Punk.

I gave some of PiL's music a listen a while back and I really didn't like it.

I think the list is pretty good, tbh. Other than The Queen is Dead, I would agree that they are all overrated.
