Amen to that, I love the sound of cello in modern music. Viola sounds awesome too, but usually when there's strings, it's either cello or violin, or a whole ensemble. I really can't think of a song which features just a viola on it actually.

Also, I have a real liking for bells. Don't ask me why, but the use of big church bells (or bells the size of church bells) in a song always gets me real into it.

The sound of an organ is also pretty awesome.

The Electric Jug should be way more common in music. It might be a pretty pointless instrument but damn it's cool. The 13th Floor Elevators had the right idea.

If The Wall had an Electric Jug in the boring parts it would be helluva better album.

Oh, no. The violin is to classical music (and other musical genres) what the electric guitar is to rock. It's the one doing the singing, the weeping, the screaming, the soloing, the magic, the notes that the piano can't play, etc... basically!

Ondes Martenot would be perfect!

Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead plays it at Post-Kid A works
and it sounds really lovely(at least for me, some says it makes scary sound 🙁 )

/And Julian Koster of Neutral Milk Hotel and The Music Tapes plays many epic instrument
for instance he plays saw (yes, literaly 😁 )

That's the only thing I know about which falls under Arabic music, it's far from ambient though.
