Agree with gtroda, I think the focus should remain on albums and charts. Also, there are already quite a few daily threads, and I think another one might tip things over the edge.

I think the focus of the site is for albums and not bands.

albummaster already has his hands full with all the admin required to keep the site functioning related to albums.

If you really want to talk about a certain band just start a thread about the band and see if anyone wants to discuss them. Most of the time that happens people get all pissy and moan about "how many times do we have to talk about ____?"

Yeah, the music section would get crowded with all the 'Of The Day' stuff. I'd still like to see this become a thing though.

I'm hoping nothing like that happens. Really, if I were in charge of it, I'd stir away from my personal favorites to just think of a random band each week. Portishead, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Nickleback, CSN, CCR, Chuck Berry...

WHOA! Solo artist of the week, and Band of the week! Taking place on two different days! That would be great!

i think it is a bad idea unless it lets in like the top 365 as possibles and doesn't do the same one twice in a year.

knowing my luck oasis or u2 will be made band of the day 5 times each

The way I see it, our band threads get just as much discussion as the AotD threads. Take a look at the Zeppelin and Alice Cooper threads.

Yeah, one link is enough, but like Jasonconfused says, discussing a band is potentially a much larger discussion than an album.

This. Each week can be a week that we can discuss a band. There is a lot more to discuss about a band than an album so we would need a week.

Well, we don't have to put every single album they did there. But we could put a link to their BEA page on.

On the top page could be a kist of the band members, pictures of each band member or 1 picture of all of them together, and the years each band member was active or the band itself was active. Also, it could be posted three or four hours after Album of the Day.
