Every time I see this I literally weep. The combination of the music, the story and the directing hits me like a sledgehammer each time. Its just that feeling of losing everything, and suddenly crashing back down to reality. An amazing peace of work

A lot of truly excellent, fantastic choices in here: Stuck In The Middle With You, Layla from Goodfellas, Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon from PF, Tree Of Life, Trainspotting, Fight Club, Bateman gone nuts with Huey Lewis and the News, Aguirre's opening scene (although I posted it as well before Yourself 😜 ), Push It To The Limit (great comment on Scarface btw by Evandar)... Damn, it only proves how amazingly well these two forms of art can be combined!

useless has my favourite choice: DeNiro's entrance in Mean Streets, what a scene! That movie and other Scorsese movies are chock full of such moments, but that might be the best one. 😄

The first one I thought of when seeing the thread was not a Scorsese movie, however:

Scarface is so goddamn dark, and then somewhere in the middle you get this scene, where everything finally seems to be going right for the main character, and it looks like he's made it to the top of the world. Of course it doesn't last, to put it mildly.

Aahh tumblr reminded me of another one:
KILL BILL + Twisted Nerve theme
and one of useless' picks reminded me of Royal Tenenbaums + Needle in the Hay combo

Also, props for the Garden State-Don't panic and the Big Lebowski mention.

I'm starting to realize how many great scenes like that exist, so I'm slowly backing away from this thread 🤣
