Long and interesting post by lethalnezzle, for sure. I'm not a hiphop fan, but I like reading historical overviews like that. I like a song here and there, but actually the guy I like the most is Eminem, he has a ridiculously aggressive style of rapping that pleases me, and most of what I've heard of rapping is smoother, more relaxed. I didn't vote, though, as I don't know enough about the genre, despite growing up with it as a part of the stuff I listened to.

The 90s is the decade I know best, and it's packed with great hip hop albums, so I'd tend to vote for that, but I must say these early 10s sound very strong indeed. I don't know the 00s so much, I sort of lost interest in rap in '04, but these last two years have rejuvenated it. So, I'm waiting for the 10s to end before I vote.

90s for sure. Purely because on more than one occasion I've come very close to putting Doggystyle on my chart.

I know next to nothing about Hip-Hop but I'm not sure I could say anything but the 90s.

It was serious that its the only kind of hip hop song I like.
It was not really serious to post it here.

I wanted to vote for 70's, beacause Rapper's Delight is from 1979 and that is the only kind of hip hop song I like. As the 70's weren't upon the options, I chose for the 80's.

The I definitely suggest checking out Anti-Pop Consortium. They are one of the most musically ambitious hip hop groups I've heard.

Haha. totally understood. I'm actually not that familiar with his solo stuff either. I've seen him live a few times by chance, usually with Holy Fuck and it's been good. I did dig End It All when it came out though. There's some really fantastic collaborations on that one.

Are you into Beans' solo records?
